Schick Digital Radiographs
We understand your concern about radiation exposure, yet X-rays are vital to dentistry. Please know that we do everything possible to minimize exposure and protect the safety of our patients and our staff.
Before taking an X-ray, we must be convinced that the information we will obtain from the images will aid us in our treatment. If there’s nothing to be gained by taking an X-ray, we simply won’t do it.
We also employ the safest, most up-to-date X-ray technology (digital radiographs) available to minimize unnecessary exposure to radiation. We use lead aprons to protect the rest of your body; and finally, we rigorously maintain our equipment to ensure optimum safety. We feel digital radiographs offers our patients the highest diagnostic capabilities in the safest possible manner.
CEREC Same-Day Crowns
The design is sent via wireless link to our milling unit, called the MCXL, where your new restoration is ground from a solid block of ceramic. We choose the block of porcelain based upon the shade and strength needed to make your tooth look and function appropriately. Simply clamp the ceramic block in place and press the start button. The twin-bur machining system has proved itself time and time again in practical applications. The CEREC MC XL milling unit machines the ceramic restorations gently, yet with the utmost precision.
Once your restoration is done milling, unique color customization can begin. Emax restorations must be crystallized in the oven and cooled which doubles the strength of the original block of porcelain. Empress restorations can be customized and baked in the oven, or hand polished. These restorations are not cemented as we used to do. Instead, we bond the restorations in place. This provides greater strength, better color, conservative tooth preparations, and the ability to eat and drink right away after your appointment! The best part, you do not have to wear a temporary for 2-3 weeks, and come back for a second visit to place the final restoration! Its all done in one visit!
The future of Cerec in our office will be integrating guided implant surgery and milling custom guide plates to place implants precisely. The Cerec will be able to mill final crowns for a beautifully restored implant.
Laser Dentistry
A CHANGE FOR THE HAPPIER
The miracle we’ve both been waiting for is here: Solea. Now available to you, Solea is a powerful dental laser that replaces the dental drill in the majority of procedures in our practice. In fact, nearly every patient skips anesthesia because they just don’t need it. Solea is our way of keeping you happy. Because more than anything, we love to see you smile.
WHAT IS SOLEA?
Solea is the first CO2 dental laser system cleared by the FDA for hard, soft and osseous tissue procedures. It was developed in Boston, Massachusetts by Convergent Dental, based on research conducted at the University of California School of Dentistry.
Solea offers a unique wavelength guided by sophisticated computers to deliver virtually painless dental procedures for both teeth and gums from simple cavities to complex surgeries. The experience is so unique that you will find it hard to believe you were just at a dental appointment.
WHY SOLEA?
The majority of hard and soft tissue procedures in our office are done with virtually no anesthesia and soft tissue procedures are done with virtually no bleeding. Blood-free and anesthesia-free procedures represent a major leap forward in dentistry, as we are able to execute multi-quadrant dentistry, fillings on the fly and soft tissue procedures in a single appointment. What does that mean for you, our patients? You are now able to receive the care you need in a fraction of the time. When patients have anesthesia they typically leave the office with that numb feeling still prevalent. With Solea, you are able to go right out to lunch or back to work without that numb sensation following your appointment. Solea is truly changing what it means to go to the dentist.
Cone Beam 3D Scanner
We pride ourselves on providing our patients with the latest dental technology and with our Orthophos SL 3D scanner we are capable of not only taking 2D Panoramic digital x-rays but 3D digital x-rays.
The 3D scan allows our doctors to view many details that 2D scans and x-rays are unable to pick up.
